I've noticed a recent trend on several of NINGs sites, related to education and/or ed tech. It seems profiles are being created for "members" whose educational connections are dubious, at best. Some are promoting ways to make money from the use of various web sites, while others are promoting a service that will "help" you with all your dissertation needs.
I would advise people to be on the lookout for these "members" and take care not to accept their friend requests. Some NINGS actively try to…

I had to totally revamp my website. I was creating a monster slowly and methodically over the years, adding movies, newsletters, photos,etc...until it was just too big to publish on my school server!
After having lost sleep over this I finally bit the bullet and scrapped it~sort of. It still exists but it's hard to find.
So, I learned iWeb and started fresh:…

I will be at the FileMaker booth during the NECC 2009 conference demonstrating some of the data tools that I have created for use by the schools in my district.
If you have a minute please drop by the booth and introduce yourself.
I really enjoyed myself last year at the ICE conference and hope to make it back again next year.

Hi, does anyone have a software program that will convert Windows Movie Maker files into a DVD format that they like? I've been doing some research and most are expensive for our school budget. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I am looking for some new & fun ways to teach keyboarding to my students. I have a lot of great websites and things that I use, so what I'm more interested in is actual methods. The problem = many of the students I teach come to me still looking down at their hands when they type; I need to break that old, ugly habit. I use a progression that works for most students, but I have a couple toughies this quarter. Any ideas are much appreciated. Thanks for the help!!!

Dear Colleagues,
I need your help. My district wants all staff to sign an
AUP, but I see it as a flawed document and would like to know if any of your districts have one that you are not leery to sign. The one our district has chosen is all over the Internet; all you have to do is search the following phase and you'll get plenty of hits: "Unauthorized downloading of software, regardless of whether it is copyrighted or devirused." My f…

This document is a compilation of interactive websites that I have accumulated over the years by way of colleagues, presentations, and numerous searches. All sites were active at the time of this printing. Teachers should always preview sites before allowing student access. This is considered a work in progress. Please feel free to add your best sites to the list and pass them along!
