2010: A Learning Odyssey

There was a question about the difference between the terms "Abstract" and "Press Paragraph" on the conference proposal submission form. Here's the official word, so far.

That wording originates with the creators of our new conference planning software who have created a comprehensive conference tool that is used by both large and small organizations. The abstract is generally shorter and is used by some organizations for “day-at-a-glance” sheets while the longer press paragraph contains the text that will be printed in the program book. We asked the software designers to be sure that there is enough space in both fields for the descriptions that we use in our printed books, so many people may just choose to use the same descriptions in both fields. We will use the field labeled “Press Paragraph” for the contents of our program book, so people should be sure that the information they include in this field is complete and accurate.
