Illinois Computing Educators

2010: A Learning Odyssey

www.il-edtech.org
Just wondering who is coming to Springfield in a couple of weeks and what expectations you may have for this conference. If not coming, what expectations do you have for tech conferences in general?

My expectations are higher than last year. I really didn't have much of any expectations last year. I had an eye-opening experience after attending sessions presented by Charlene Chausis and David Jakes. I have found a new enthusiasm for technology use in education. Expectations for this year are how to get these technologies to more teachers and ultimately more students.

Here is my first ever blog post as a result of the conference last year.

Congratulations on your 'first ever blog post'! This will be my 4th year attending the IETC conference in Springfield and my 2nd year as a presenter. I love the ease with which you can travel from session to session and the feeling of community and opportunity to meet people and learn during the lunch time session.

I have always come home with some new ideas and this conference gives me an opportunity to connect with fellow Ed-Tech pals from 'up north'. I guess to answer your question, I'm expecting another great experience. I look forward to hearing what others are trying, what is working, what they are struggling with, what's new, etc.

I'll be there this year. I have gone two other years, but didn't make it last year. I always come home with new ideas, so I'm looking forward to being there!

This will be my third year presenting at IETC. It's a bit smaller than ICE at Pheasant run, but a nice collegial atmosphere and affords great opportunities to interact with people.
