Apple Distinguished Educators and other assorted folks will be presenting a variety of hands-on activities in the Apple Skybox on Thursday and Friday. Here's the schedule:
Thursday, Feb. 26
9:45 - 10:30: Photobooth Phun, Joe Brennan
Joe is a happily retired former AV/Media Coordinator now filling his time as
a full time grandpa and a digital storytelling evangelist.
PhotoBooth is a program loaded with potential from re-imaging still pictures
to making green screen movies.
10:45 - 11:30: Staff Starters, Susan Sullivan
Susan is the Technology Coordinator, Sacred Heart School
Here are some creative ways iLife and iWorks can jump start classroom
teachers.
11:45 - 12:30: Digital Storybooks with iMovie, Kim Zimmer
Kim is a lead technology facilitator at Avoca West Elementary School in
Glenview, Illinois.
"Creating Digital Storybooks with iMovie" will explore how seamlessly Kid
Pix, iPhoto and iMovie work together.
12:45 - 1:30: Global Collaboration, Lucy Gray
Lead Technology Integration Coach, University of Chicago, Urban
Education Institute
Learn about a community for teachers and students interested in global
education.
1:45 - 2:30: iPod Touch and Mobile Learning, Karen Thompson
Karen is a facilitator in Springfield District 186. She is also an Apple
Distinguished Educator.
Explore classroom and professional uses for the iPod Touch; geography,
health, science, math, literature and more.
2:45 - 3:30: Storytelling with iPhoto/Keynote, Charlene Chausis
Charlene is a Technology Training and Integration Specialist for Stevenson

11:45 - 12:30: Music Creation for Everyone in GarageBand, Matt Fuller
Matt is Director of Technology and Communications at The Winnetka Public
Schools
This session is designed for both musicians and non-musicians and
teaches music creation using GarageBand
12:45 - 1:30: Podcasting Posse, Carolyn Skibba
Carolyn Skibba is the Technology Coordinator, Teacher · Burley School,
Chicago, IL
Parents are trained to record students on iPods with TuneTalks, import and
edit in GarageBand (adding music and photobooth pics), and then publish
to iWeb and MobileMe accounts for sharing with the school.
1:45 - 2:30: Digital Storytelling with iPhoto/iWeb, Marianne Handler
Marianne is Professor Emeritus, National-Louis University
Telling stories continues whatever your age; young or old. Scrapbook
pages can be used for telling digital stories. The pages are then brought
into iPhoto and an iWeb page takes the story even further.
